The goal of this tour is to visit the less visited site in Madagascan and to do as much as possible activities in adventurous ways, and of course some nice days relaxes on the nice beaches. 11 days Multi activities tour to explore the north east region of Madagascar. Start with short boat trip and hike before we explore the private park of Farankarainana which is well reputed by its colorful birds and lemurs, trek in Masoala National park and discover its primary and secondary forest for 2 full days, before we end our trip with Nosy Mangabe Island. The particular interest for this tour is to give ‘Malagasy eyes’ to the guests, bringing them deep into the real Malagasy life, to talk and to exchange experiences with local Malagasy people why not to lodge and share table with them to get more fun!

The optimal time for this amazing tour is from June to November, it is designed for all nature lovers who prefers to explore the wild and make great photos. The mega biodiversity in our unique country with the exiting landscape in different areas makes this tour unforgettable.

Day 1

Touching down in Antananarivo

Upon arrival in Antananarivo, you will be welcome by our staff and transferred to your hotel.  Depend in your arrival time, we may plan short walk if the time allows us or just keep the rest of the day free. We will hear more about the trip during the first briefing for this evening.

Day 2

Antananarivo – Maroantsetra

Depend on your flight to Maroantsetra, we install first in the hotel Maroantsetra resort, then we go to discover the daily life of the north east coast of Madagascar, we may have short visit of the artisanal market place, before we meet our local guide and porters for tour briefing in the evening, we will hear more of the next 8 days adventure.

Day 3

Maroantsetra – Farankarainana

We have short transfer to reach our starting point for our local boat trip, we have about 1h30mn to Andranofotsy. From here we walk another 1h 30mn to reach Farankarainana, our first highlights of this trip. Installation on the camping as soon as we arrive, Then we still have enough time to explore the rain forest, we hope to see some endemic bird and lemur of the region. The beach is also worth to enjoy late afternoon before we have our first night walk, try to search the well-known Aye-Aye one of the rarest lemur.

Day 4

Farankarainana – Ambolosy

Today, we will see marvelous view on the Indian Ocean and the North Eastern of the Island. Picnic lunch on the beach and keep going on the way for few hours. This day is a full day hike so we have better chance to meet local people in their daily life.

Day 5

Ambolosy – Ambanizana

We have early breakfast today, this can be one of the   hardest way: steep slopes, rocky, mud, and river crossings will make this hike a truly adventurous day but with beautiful landscape. Picnic lunch on the beach. We may see panther chameleons and some insect on way.

Day 6

Ambanizana – Masoala NP (Tampolo)

After breakfast, we will hike along the sea coast, with some up and down on the hill. On the halfway we’ll arrive to National Park boundary and we may spot lemurs, chameleons, frogs and insects…
In the afternoon we still have a long way to go, we may say technical part again as it is steep, sleeper and across several streams until Ambodiforaha.

Day 7

Masoala National Park (primary forest)

After breakfast we explore the primary rainforest of Masoala with giant tree over 400 years old, and enjoying lovely bird sound, more than 90 species can be spotted in Masoala, we have good chance to see 2 or 3 different kind of lemurs and enjoy different sound of the nature. In the afternoon we will relax enjoy the nice beach.
This evening, we can do another night if we want, we may see lemurs such as: mouse and sportive lemurs …

Day 8

Masoala National Park (secondary forest)

We explore the secondary forest searching for crested Ibis, short –leg ground roller, lesser bamboo lemur in the green forest, picnic in the beach, after we explore the sea wildlife, enjoying paradise beaches, sun bath and snorkeling in the marine park searching for star fish, parrot fish ,groups of barracudas. And then back to the lodge for the night.

Day 9

Nosy Mangabe Island

After breakfast we take boat transfer to Nosy Mangabe Island. Arrival in Nosy Mangabe, short walk before lunch: leaf tailed geckos, orchids, nice beaches
Then back to the camp for lunch then we go for walk again searching for the second smallest chameleon in the world called Brookesia Piererasia, lemurs, snake, also frogs fulfill our day.

Day 10

Nosy Mangabe Island – Maroantsetra – (Antananarivo)

Early breakfast and boat transfer to Maroantsetra, it takes about 30 minutes. We may fly to Tana the same day, depending on flight schedule or have an overnight in Maroantsetra and fly the next day.
